 Ingredients

2 (21 oz) cans apple pie filling
1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
1 tsp ground cinnamon
¾ cup unsalted butter, melted

 Directions

Step 1:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Step 2:
Spread the apple pie filling evenly across the bottom of the baking dish.
Step 3:
Sprinkle the ground cinnamon evenly over the apple filling.
Step 4:
Evenly sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix over the apples. Do not stir.
Step 5:
Slowly drizzle the melted butter over the entire surface, covering as much of the cake mix as possible.
Step 6:
Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the apple filling is bubbling around the edges.
Step 7:
Allow the cake to cool for 10–15 minutes before serving.
Step 8:
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or a drizzle of caramel sauce if desired.

 Tips

Use apple pie filling with cinnamon for even more flavor.
If you notice dry patches of cake mix before baking, drizzle a little extra melted butter over those spots.
Add chopped pecans or walnuts for a delicious crunchy topping (optional).
Sprinkle a little brown sugar over the cake mix before baking for a caramelized finish.
Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days and reheat before serving.
For an extra indulgent dessert, drizzle warm caramel sauce over each serving and top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
