This easy, sweet and savory appetizer is perfect for parties or a simple dinner. The kielbasa and apples cook in a delicious glaze right in your slow cooker!
Ingredients
1 lb kielbasa sausage, sliced into ½-inch rounds
2 apples, cored and chopped into small pieces
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup apple cider or apple juice
2 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp garlic powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Slow Cooker
Lightly grease the inside of your slow cooker with cooking spray or use a liner for easy cleanup.
2. Assemble the Dish
Spread the sliced kielbasa in an even layer at the bottom of the slow cooker.
In a separate bowl, combine the chopped apples, brown sugar, apple cider, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until the sauce is smooth and the apples are coated.
Pour the apple and sauce mixture over the kielbasa, distributing it evenly.
3. Cook
Cover and cook on LOW for 3-4 hours or on HIGH for 1-2 hours. The dish is ready when the apples are tender and the sauce has thickened slightly.
4. Serve
Gently stir the kielbasa and apples to coat everything in the glaze.
Garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve hot directly from the slow cooker.
Pro-Tip: For an extra tangy flavor, add a splash of apple cider vinegar to the sauce before cooking. If you’re serving this at a party, you can leave it on the ‘warm’ setting for easy grazing.
