A simple, one-pan beef pasta dish smothered in a flavorful tomato sauce and loaded with gooey melted cheese!
As the colder winter days roll in, I often find myself yearning for cozy comfort food, and this cheesy beef pasta hits the spot perfectly! The best part? It’s a one-pan meal, meaning everything cooks together in a single pan, making it incredibly easy to prepare. The process begins by browning ground beef and onions in a pan, followed by a blend of aromatic seasonings like garlic and Italian herbs—oregano, basil, parsley, and thyme. Next, pasta, tomatoes, and beef broth are added, and the mixture simmers until the pasta is tender. The finishing touch is a generous addition of cheese—cream cheese and cheddar—which melts into the sauce, creating a rich, creamy, and irresistibly flavorful dish. Yum! This one-pan cheesy beef pasta is the ultimate comfort food, perfect for any time you need a hearty, satisfying meal!
Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef
1 onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon basil
1/2 teaspoon parsley
1/2 teaspoon thyme
Salt and pepper, to taste
8 ounces pasta (such as shells; use gluten-free pasta for a gluten-free option)
3 cups beef broth
1 (15-ounce) can tomato puree (or tomato sauce)
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons soy sauce (use gluten-free soy sauce or tamari for a gluten-free option)
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Directions:
In a large saucepan over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef and onion, breaking the meat into small pieces as it cooks. Continue until the beef is fully cooked, about 10-15 minutes. Drain any excess grease.
Add the garlic, oregano, basil, parsley, thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Add the pasta, beef broth, tomato puree, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer. Cover and cook until the pasta is tender, about 8 minutes.
Turn off the heat and stir in the cream cheese and cheddar cheese until melted and well combined.
Optional Substitutions:
Replace the oregano, basil, parsley, and thyme with 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning.
Substitute the cream cheese with 1/2 cup heavy or whipping cream.
Use your favorite melty cheese in place of cheddar.
