INGREDIENTS
12 King’s Hawaiian slider rolls sweet or savory
1 tablespoon salted butter
8 eggs room temperature
salt & pepper to taste
5-6 slices cheddar cheese
6 frozen sausage patties
2 tablespoons salted butter
1.5 tablespoon maple syrup
paprika
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 375°.
Cook the eggs slowly using my recipe for fluffy, easy, and Soft Scrambled Eggs. This will use the 1 TB of butter, 8 eggs, salt, & pepper listed above.
On a plate lined with a paper towel, add the frozen sausage patties.
Microwave on High for 3 minutes. They should all be cooked but not overdone. Blot them with another paper towel so as much of the fat is removed.
Grab your best bread knife (serrated knife) that has a long blade. Ideally, the blade would be as long as the sliders are wide. Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally. Try your best to make the tops and bottoms of equal thickness.
Place the bottoms in a 7×11 rimmed baking dish. Let the tops rest on the side.
Spread the sausage patties in an even layer over the bottoms of the rolls. You may need to cut them in half circles to fit them across all rolls – like a puzzle – see the photo above.
Top the sausage with scrambled eggs. Then follow with the slices of cheddar cheese.
Place the top layer of the rolls over the cheese.
In a microwave-safe bowl, add the 2 tablespoons of butter & maple syrup. Microwave on High for 30 seconds.
The butter should be completely melted. Whisk to combine.
Brush the tops of the rolls with the butter syrup combination. Sprinkle the tops with paprika.
Cover the baking dish with foil.
Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until the bread is warm and the cheese has melted. Check under the foil for doneness. When ready, carefully remove it from the oven.
*For crispy tops, remove the foil in the final 3-5 minutes of baking. We prefer soft yummy rolls but you may want a bit of crunch.
Replace the foil and let set for 2 minutes before slicing.
Slice into individual sliders & serve.
