Hamburger steak with onions and gravy
Ingredients
1 lb. minced meat
1 egg
A cup of rusks
Half t ground black pepper
Half a tsp of seasoned salt
Half a teaspoon of onion powder
Half a teaspoon of garlic powder
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 cup thinly sliced onion
2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
1 cup beef broth
1 tablespoon of sherry
Half a teaspoon of seasoned salt
directions
In a large bowl, mix ground beef, eggs, bread crumbs, pepper, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce together. Shape it into 8 balls and cut it into slices.
Heat oil in skillet on medium heat. Fry the patties and onions in the oil until the patties are well browned, about 4 minutes per side. Remove steaks to a plate, and keep hot.
Sprinkle the flour over the onions and broth in the skillet. Stir in the flour with a fork, scraping up the bits of beef from the bottom as you stir. Gradually mix in the beef broth and sherry. Season with seasoned salt. Simmer, stirring, over medium-low heat for 5 minutes, until gravy thickens. Reduce the heat, return the pancakes to the broth, cover, and simmer for another 15 minutes.
Enjoy !
