Ingredients:

1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
This buttery, flaky dough makes rolling and sealing super easy. Crescent rolls bake up beautifully crisp and golden, and they add a soft, slightly sweet finish.

8 slices deli ham
Use your favorite style—honey ham, black forest, or smoked. Thicker slices give you a heartier bite, while thinner slices make it easier to roll.

8 cheese sticks (mozzarella or cheddar)
Cheese sticks (like string cheese) work wonderfully here. They melt slowly and evenly, making them ideal for baking or air frying without leaking too quickly.

1 tablespoon mustard (optional)
Adds a subtle tang and richness. Dijon, yellow, or honey mustard are all excellent options, depending on your taste.

For the Garlic Butter Topping (Optional but Delicious):
1 tablespoon melted butter
Brushing your dough with butter gives it an extra golden crust.

½ teaspoon garlic powder
Adds savory depth and irresistible aroma.

½ teaspoon dried parsley
A touch of herbaceous flavor and color.

1 tablespoon grated Parmesan
Adds a salty, cheesy kick and a crunchy finish on top.

 

Instructions

Let’s walk through how to prepare these ham and cheese sticks, from dough to dipping.

Step 1: Prep Your Ingredients

Before assembling, it helps to have everything laid out:

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) or your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or spray your air fryer basket with oil.

Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into 8 triangles or rectangles.

Step 2: Assemble the Sticks
Add the mustard (if using) to each triangle. Spread a small amount thinly across the center of the dough.

Layer the ham: Lay one slice of ham over the dough. Fold it to fit if needed.

Add the cheese: Place a cheese stick or a thick chunk of cheese on top of the ham.

Roll tightly: Roll the dough over the filling, folding in the sides as you go to completely enclose the cheese. Press the edges to seal.

Tip: Make sure the cheese is fully enclosed to avoid leakage during baking.

Step 3: Brush with Butter Topping

In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, garlic powder, and parsley. Brush this mixture generously over the top of each rolled stick. Then sprinkle with Parmesan cheese for a crispy, cheesy finish.

Step 4: Bake or Air Fry
Oven method:
Place on the baking sheet and bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown.

Air fryer method:
Place 2–4 sticks in the air fryer basket (depending on size). Air fry for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through.

Let cool for 3–5 minutes before serving.
