I still remember the first time my grandma served us Beef Lombardi during the winter. Her version was a little different from the recipe that I am about to share with you, but it was just as delicious. It was my first experience with such a dish, and I was amazed by how the flavors blended together. The combination of ground beef, cheese, and pasta made me feel so at home. And since then, I have always loved it. I can’t wait for you to try it and experience it for yourself.
Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef
1 can of tomatoes (28 oz)
2 cloves of garlic, minced
2 teaspoons of honey
½ teaspoon of Tabasco sauce
1 bay leaf
1 package of cooked egg noodles
1 package of cream cheese (8 oz)
6 green onions, chopped
1 cup of sour cream
2 cups of grated cheddar cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Remove any excess fat.
2. Add the minced garlic and cook until softened.
3. Stir in the tomatoes, honey, salt, black pepper, Tabasco sauce, and bay leaf. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 30 minutes.
4. In a separate bowl, combine the cooked egg noodles, cream cheese, green onions, and sour cream.
5. Grease a 9 x 13-inch baking pan. Layer the noodle mixture, tomato mixture, and grated Cheddar cheese in an alternating pattern, finishing with a layer of cheese on top.
6. Cover the pan and bake in a oven for 30 minutes, or until the dish is heated through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
7. Serve!
