  • For the Beef:
  • 1 lb flank steak or sirloin thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce for marinade
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil divided
  • For the Vegetables:
  • 1 large onion sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp ginger minced
  • For the Sauce:
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • ¼ cup water
  • Garnish Optional:
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp green onions chopped

Method
 

  1. 1️⃣ Marinate the Beef:
  2. Toss sliced steak with cornstarch and soy sauce. Let sit for 15 minutes while prepping other ingredients.
  3. 2️⃣ Make the Sauce:
  4. Whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, hoisin, sugar, and water. Set aside.
  5. 3️⃣ Cook the Beef:
  6. Heat 1 tbsp sesame oil in a wok or skillet over medium-high heat. Sear beef for 2–3 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
  7. 4️⃣ Stir-Fry the Veggies:
  8. Add remaining oil to the pan. Sauté onion, bell peppers, garlic, and ginger for 3–4 minutes until tender-crisp.
  9. 5️⃣ Combine & Simmer:
  10. Return beef to the pan, pour in sauce, and stir well. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until thickened.
  11. 6️⃣ Serve & Garnish:
  12. Top with sesame seeds and green onions. Enjoy over steamed rice or noodles!

Notes

Spicy Kick? Add red pepper flakes or chili oil.
