Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup maraschino cherries drained and chopped
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat & Prep: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Cream Butter & Sugars: In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add Wet Ingredients: Mix in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix into the butter mixture until well combined.
  • Fold in Cherries & Chocolate: Gently stir in the chopped cherries and chocolate chips.
  • Scoop Dough: Drop rounded spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets.
  • Bake: Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges turn golden.
  • Cool: Let the cookies sit on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
