Joe’s Crab Shack Crab Dip

Ingredients
  

  • 8 oz cream cheese or Neufchatel light cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup sour cream light or regular
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 tbsp grated white onion
  • 12 oz lump crab meat about two 6-oz cans
  • 1 tsp all-purpose seasoning salt like Lawry’s
  • ½ tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped Italian parsley
  • Tabasco sauce to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Crackers baguette slices, or tortilla chips (for serving)

Method
 

  1. Oven Method:
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  3. In a medium bowl, blend cream cheese, mayonnaise, and sour cream until smooth.
  4. Stir in the remaining ingredients until well combined.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a small baking dish.
  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden and bubbly.
  7. Serve warm with crackers, bread, or chips.
  8. Slow Cooker Method:
  9. Combine all ingredients in a 3–4 quart slow cooker and mix well.
  10. Cook on LOW for 2 hours, stirring occasionally, until the cream cheese is fully melted.
  11. Let it cook for another 15–20 minutes to blend flavors.
  12. Keep on WARM/LOW for up to 1 hour, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  13. Serve with your favorite dippers.
