Creamy Garlic Shrimp Dish

Ingredients
  

  • Shrimp
  • 1 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Creamy Garlic Sauce
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Fresh thyme leaves for garnish
  • Mashed Potatoes
  • 2 lbs potatoes peeled and cubed
  • ½ cup warm milk
  • ¼ cup butter
  • Salt to taste

Method
 

  1. Prepare Mashed Potatoes:
  2. Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender (about 15 minutes). Drain, then mash with warm milk and butter until smooth. Season with salt and set aside.
  3. Cook the Shrimp:
  4. Toss shrimp with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook shrimp for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  5. Make the Creamy Garlic Sauce:
  6. In the same skillet, melt butter. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute. Pour in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in Parmesan and Dijon mustard. Season with salt and pepper. Let simmer for 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  7. Assemble & Serve:
  8. Spoon mashed potatoes onto plates, top with cooked shrimp, and drizzle generously with the creamy garlic sauce. Garnish with fresh thyme leaves.
