Method
- Make the Pretzel Crust:
- In a bowl, mix crushed pretzels, melted butter, and ½ cup peanut butter until well combined.
- Press the mixture firmly into an 8×8-inch pan lined with parchment paper (or lightly greased). Set aside.
- Prepare the Peanut Butter Layer:
- In another bowl, blend the remaining ½ cup peanut butter with powdered sugar until crumbly.
- Sprinkle evenly over the pretzel crust and press down gently.
- Create the Caramel Layer:
- In a small saucepan over low heat, melt caramel candies with heavy cream, stirring until smooth.
- Pour over the peanut butter layer, spreading evenly. Chill for 15–20 minutes to set.
- Add the Chocolate Topping:
- Melt chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- Spread melted chocolate over the caramel layer.
- Chill & Serve:
- Refrigerate for 1–2 hours (or until firm).
- Lift out using parchment paper, slice into bars, and enjoy!
Notes
Crush Pretzels Easily: Use a zip-top bag and rolling pin.
Customize: Top with sea salt, chopped nuts, or sprinkles before the chocolate sets.
Storage: Keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze for up to 3 months.
